Raw Rose Uncooking Class at Zen Zero

Rose Vasile (Raw Rose) will be holding an Uncooking Class at Zen Zero from 6-9 on Tuesday, September 28th. Rose is the author of a Canadian Bestseller “Uncooking With Raw Rose – Your Guide to Raw Foods”, available at ZenZero. The $45 cost of the class includes HST, lots of info, recipes and samples of Savoury Carrot Soup, Crackers (& dehydrating info), Not Egg Salad on Greens and Fruit Crumble. Reservations are required. Open House

Zen Zero will be hosting an Open House in conjunction with Our Big Earth’s 2010 Local Food Challenge. Come on down to Zen Zero this Wednesday July 7 from 10-4 and learn about some of the fabulous local food suppliers we use to bring our tasty recipes to life. There will be food specials and a draw for a gift basket filled to the brim with local goodies. Some of the featured local farms are, Berry Best Farms, Freedom Farms, Lawns to Gardens, Tsolum Farms, Watrin Orchard, Fiesta Greenhouses and Snapdragon Acres.

A huge thanks to Bob at Earthsave for organizing tonight’s Vegan Dine Out at Zen Zero. The food was great and the company was even better. We feel inspired enough to consider doing a dine-out once a month with a different themed menu each time. What do you think about that? Vegan Dine Out

This month’s Earthsave Vegan Dine Out is at Zen Zero this Sunday August 23rd! Call Bob to reserve your seat at 250-338-0571. There will be two sittings, one at 5pm and another at 6:30pm. The menu will be all raw. The main course is Kelp Noodles with creamy herb cashew sauce served with a caesar salad. Don’t let the name “kelp” scare you. Kelp noodles are in fact made from the highly nutritious sea kelp, but they are also highly delicious with no salty sea taste whatsoever. In fact they resemble that of your average vermicelli noodle. Perfect for those with gluten free diets as well as those only eating raw vegan foods.

Have you ever had a raw pie before? Well if you haven’t, and heck even if you have, you are in for a real treat. Kyla’s famous chocolate raspberry bliss cake is on the dessert menu and it’s to die for, but it won’t kill you, in fact it’s actually good for you!

Kid’s will be feasting on the kelp noodles and a rather remarkable strawberry pudding for dessert.

There will be apple orange punch in place of coffee and tea.

All this for $15 including taxes. Kids are just $8. Call Bob now as space is limited.

The Big Time Out Rocked!

Perfect Festival weather combined with fabulous music, excellent food and a family friendly atmosphere made this year’s The Big Time Out a smashing success in my books! My kids loved dancing and spent a fair amount of time in the very impressive kids area. Oh and smoothie sales were off the charts! Can’t wait til year!

The Zen Zero Smoothie Wagon will be on site at The Big Time Out tomorrow in our home town of Cumberland. We will be selling smoothies, sandwiches, gluten free rice wraps, spelt muffins and off course wheatgrass! Come on down to Cumberland Village Park and check out The Sam Robert’s Band, Delhi 2 Dublin and the always fabulous local Mother Mother to name just a few.
