Now serving Raw Quiche! NO, it’s not raw eggs, it is 100% vegan using cashews and agar, which is a type of seaweed which thickens and firms everything up so it’s sliceable and yummy! The agar is heated to get it to do it’s magic, but everything else is raw. This weeks Quiche is marinated mushroom and spinach. $6.95 a slice or add a 1/2 salad of your choosing for $10.95.

Holiday Hours

We will be open from 12-4 on Sundays in December as will all the other businesses downtown Courtenay. Shop local this Holiday Season and fuel up on hot apple cider, Christmas chai smoothies, hot soup, gluten free wraps and muffins, design your own salads and raw chocolates in gift boxes at Zen Zero before you start shopping!

Save the Dolphins Fundraiser

There will be a Vegan Bake Sale fundraiser at Zen Zero on Saturday October 16th from 1 – 5pm with all proceeds going to send Tara, a local animal rights activist, to Taiji Japan to help stop the massive Dolphin slaughter that takes place there from September thru March.

There will be a large assortment baked goods for sale with everything from your traditional wheat flour to gluten free and even some unbaked raw treats. Everything will be Vegan. Following the bake sale there will be a 5pm screening of the movie The Cove in the newly renovated multi purpose room in Zen Zero. Everything is by donation and whatever money is raised will help send Tara to Japan to be a part of the effort to stop this senseless slaughter of thousands of dolphins and whales in Japan. Today we ask our customers, “What are you grateful for?” And me? I am grateful for the new totally Raw and totally rad Chocolate Love Bombs Kyla and I made last night. Creamy vanilla inside and dark chocolate outer shell, pop one of these bombs in your mouth and experience the explosion of love that follows! Yes, totally grateful for Raw chocolate and for a great time spent with my sister last night pouring our love into what we love best – making food!

Bake Sale

OMG – I just came back from the Comox Valley Farmer’s Market where I had myself a vegan, gluten-free, sugar-free muffin from Bake Sale – a brand new company started by local mom Christa Herrling – and yes – it was delicious! No longer shall I be envious of the little ginger bread men from Hubert’s Bakery, or the awesome looking muffins from Mom’s Awesome Muffins. Now I have a place to call my very own when we go to the market. Muffins weren’t the only thing on her menu either. Today she had Vegan wheat-free brownies and cupcakes and Vegan, gluten-free cupcakes, chocolate chip cookies and pumpkin loaf – outstanding! This girl better be ready cause the Comox Valley is going to gobble up all her allergen free baking and come pounding on her door for more!
